Bright Himalayan

Born from a
love of mountains

Bright Himalayan began in 2026 when two mountain guides decided there was a better way to share the wilderness — smaller groups, deeper culture, zero compromise on safety.

More than a trekking company

We believe the mountains have something to teach everyone — but only if approached with respect, preparation, and the right guide at your side.

Founded by lead guides Dawa Gelji Sherpa, Bright Himalayan grew out of frustration with overcrowded treks and under-prepared guiding companies. We started with a single Everest Base Camp itinerary and three trekkers. Today we operate 36 routes across 8 countries, but our group sizes and guiding philosophy haven’t changed a bit.

Every route we operate is one our guides have walked dozens of times. We know where the tea house serves the best dal bhat, which ridge gives the first view of Everest, and exactly which day the altitude will hit you hardest.

“The mountains will always be there. Our job is to make sure you come back.”

— Dawa Gelji Sherpa, founder & Lead Guide

Our core values

Every decision we make — from route selection to guide training — comes back to these principles.

🛡

Safety above all

No summit, no deadline, no client pressure ever overrides safety. Our guides are empowered to turn back at any point without question.

🌿

Responsible tourism

We follow strict Leave No Trace principles, pay fair wages to local staff, and contribute 2% of revenue to mountain conservation projects.

🧭

Local expertise

Every guide is a local expert — born in the region, trained on the specific routes, and deeply connected to the communities we pass through.

👥

Small groups

Maximum 12 trekkers per group. Not because it’s trendy — because we believe it’s the only way to trek responsibly and authentically.

🎒

Genuine preparation

We send every trekker a comprehensive prep guide, host pre-trek calls, and won’t let anyone join a route they’re not ready for.g Text Here

💚

Community benefit

We hire locally, source meals locally, and stay in locally-owned tea houses. Your trek fee directly benefits mountain communities.

The guides behind your adventure

Our lead guides have collectively spent over 200 seasons in the mountains. These are some of the people who might lead your trek.
